This blog is for discussing and exhibiting Astrophotography made with Medium Format cameras and lenses.
So - Film or Digital?
Both, of course!
But Film is where the best value is to be found these days. In the stampede from 35mm film to digital, people have lost sight of the fact that enough film real estate (medium or even large format) will still image a given area of sky with more detail than digital.
In this blog we will discuss the pros and cons of both film and digital. Examples and opinions are particulary welcome.
I will also advise on the Medium Format gear that I have found to be best for the job. Reviews and user opinions will feature often.
And remember folks, it's a hobby, it's all about pleasure.

Thanks for your comment on my Blog - and thanks for letting us use GUFI on the VATT. I understand the optimized focal reducer I used was for I band but as you pointed out V band changeover would have been overkill for the quick and dirty images I was obtaining in my disport of the instrument.
Anyway - I plan on using the instrument in early october to image the impact of the LCROSS satellite onto the moon's surface and hopefully the resulting ejecta plume.
Would love to correspond with you about some of the software settings I might use to image this event - if you have the time.
